From Cane Fields to Community: The Birth of Fairview Estates 🌾

Fairview Estates has an inspiring story rooted in the heart of the North Coast, from its early days as a sugar cane farm to the vibrant farming estate it is today. Recently, we invited all our Fairview families to witness a traditional cane fire, a bittersweet moment that marked the end of an era. Nic Jordan, one of the original founders of Fairview, wanted to share this nostalgic experience with our new generation of Fairview farmers, knowing it would be the last cane fire as Fairview transitions fully into a residential farming estate. Now, instead of cane fields, our lands flourish with macadamias, coffee, cows, and more!

Nic Jordan is a fifth-generation member of a North Coast farming family, with roots deeply embedded in this land. Having grown up on this very farm since he was six, Nic attended Umhlali Preparatory School – the same school where many of Fairview’s young farmers go today. Driven by a vision to protect the land he loves while adapting to changing times, Nic took bold steps to diversify away from sugar cane. He established Living Earth Lawn and Compost and later envisioned a new chapter for Fairview by creating a secure farming estate.

His dream was to offer families the unique experience of farm life on the beautiful North Coast of KZN, all within the peace and security of a gated estate. Alongside his dedicated co-developers, Nick Leitch and Liesl Venter, Fairview Estates became a reality.
